Below is a report from four artists who set themselves daily or weekly blog challenges in 2015.
I particularly like Olena Bodnarchuk's observation that:
"It’s easy to keep myself on track because sketching brings me so much joy. What I love about this habit is that quantity becomes quality. It feels like a tiny step I make each day, which then leads to my development in the long term."
I also feel an affinity with artist Yi-Ching Link's 'Writing is a good kind of stressful'.
I gave myself the challenge last year of writing a minimum of three blog posts a week for Passle, and then in December I gave myself the challenge of reviewing a poetry pamphlet a day. I am carrying on the Passle challenge, but not sure yet what creative ones I will give myself....
Have you given yourself a writing challenge for this year? It's not too late to get started....
Many of you challenge yourselves with long-term blog projects, from daily urban sketches to a weekly short story series. As we say goodbye to 2015, let’s look at how a sketcher, a poet, a short story writer, and an essayist have met their daily and weekly goals.
